CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG
JULY 28 - AUGUST 2, 2009

A FAMILY FAVORITE FLIES INTO STARLIGHT
You'll believe a car can fly! The enthralling adventure of the magical car that sails the seas and flies through the air has been a family favorite since the original motion picture captivated the world's imagination in 1968. Chitty's eccentric inventor, Caractacus Potts, and his children Jemima and Jeremy join Truly Scrumptious and kooky Grandpa Potts in outwitting the dastardly Baron and Baroness of Vulgaria in their attempt to steal the flying car for themselves.

Starlight’s family show for summer 2009 is everything you could want in a musical -- and more! CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG will fly into town in the form of the new touring stage adaptation of the beloved movie. The tour officially launches Nov. 18 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Based on the timeless novel by Ian Fleming, author/creator of the James Bond franchise, the production features the music and lyrics of the legendary Sherman brothers, composers of Mary Poppins.

The Broadway production launched in April 2005 and received five Tony Award nominations, 10 Outer Critics Circle Award nominations and four Drama Desk nominations. The newly conceived touring version, with direction and adapted script by Ray Roderick, features sets and costumes by renowned English designer Anthony Ward. New choreography is by Joanne Hunter.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the entertainment industry, shows, dates and performers are subject to change.
